Canberra, Australia. Screwcap. 14% alcohol. Approx $A75.
Deep red. Terrific perfume like nose. Floral, anise and cherry. Auto-suggestion allows me to detect apricot. Seems broader and sweeter than the 2002 model (which is my benchmark for the best Clonakilla I have had to date) though it still has the customary silky softness followed by chalky gripping tannins. Seems a little too prim and perfect - I think (with 11 bottle remaining, I hope) it will improve with age.
Very good.
17.5/20 (93/100).
Drink 2009 - 2017.
Tasted again April 2008

Yes. Great wine. Had it last weekend with some friends.
Good to hear. Where did you get it from? I'm assuming you got it in Europe. . .
