Innocent Bystander Pink Moscato
Gordo Muscat and Muscatel. Victoria, Australia. 6.4% alcohol. Crown seal. Approx $A12 for 375mls.
I was planning on eating pineapple and felt like something to drink. Nothing works particularly well with pineapple - especially if it is eaten in quantity. The acid and the enzymes (bromelin) in the fruit, do strange things to your tongue and taste buds. I picked this for its sweetness and playful personality. (Pink + light fizz + crown seal + half bottle + low alcohol = non serious)
Clean, fresh and fun. Pale pink, like a dress Barbie might wear. Turkish delight on the nose and a faint tickle of fizz, before abundant sweetness in the mouth. Served cold, there is enough acid and vitality to prevent it becoming overdone and cloying.
Drink now - 2008.
Rating: Suitable for picnics, the beach and young children's birthday parties. (86/100)
