Penfolds Bin 311 Chardonnay 2006
Tumbarumba, New South Wales, Australia. 13.5% alcohol. Screwcap. Approx $A30
Lemon, musk, pear and faint honey. Refreshingly crisp, though from memory less searing than the 05 edition. Evokes crunch and juicy minerality.
Very good - excellent.
91.
Drink now - 2012.
Post script: Tried again today (6th March 2008) - Expansive nose with peach, nut, straw and pineapple. Pleasing texture, lush and rounded, but cut with acidity. Very good.
