The product of a warm and dry vintage, this is less focused and unique than the 2005 effort, which was truly superb. It's still very good, in a stereotypical modern Australian chardonnay kind of way.
Struck match and flint combine with grapefruit, grilled peach and pineapple. Whilst there is quite notable and excellent acidity throughout, the attack is broader and more confronting and exuberant than expected. The flavours are rich, bold and warm, before the wine is pulled into line by the acidity. Taken on its own this is an excellent wine, but compared to the previous vintage this is a shadow.
Very good - excellent.

Now - 2015.
Post script: 8th of February 2008. I tried another bottle tonight - butterscotch and cream in the mouth to offset the lovely acidity. Assertive, large and powerful. White peach, mustard fruit and stone scented. Fleshy.

Hi there this isn't so much a comment but advice on some Macedon ranges wines i just bought! Have 06 Bindi Composition Pinot & Chardonnay, 06 Epis Pinot, 04 Curly Flat Pinot. Should I be storing these & for how long do you reckon? Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Pluggin,
Thanks for the comment. My feeling would be drink the 06 Composition in the next 3-4 years. The Epis pinot is quite age worthy (6-8 years plus). I've tried 00-05 Epis and have been impressed with all of them.
Only tried 2 or 3 Curly Flat, by guess would be 3-5 years.
Depends very much on your will power, cellar conditions and how you like your wine. . .
Hi Edward
Awesome thanks! That's a lot of will power, even the 3-4years! Of course I could just buy cases of each and test them each year :)
Excellent blog, am loving it.
