Picardy Tête de Cuvée 2006
Pemberton, Western Australia. 13%. Cork. Approx $A50.
Heavily scented, but there is not a rose or cherry in range. Distinctly wild and barnyard smelling, with rosewood, earth and the occasional cow pat. Bright acids and pleasing persistence, though the seams are still showing. It's an interesting interpretation, but one that did not appeal to me.
Very good.

Thought this was excellent. No brett but lots of smoky whole bunch. Have a second sample bottle so will have a look at that one to see if variance.

GW,
I think it was probably clean too and some of my drinking mates loved it. It reminded me most of Salitage, who also hail from Pemberton. I wonder if it is geography or wine maker mindset that leads to the particular interpretation that seems to arise from the area?
