Rambutan

It's been many years since I've found the appearance of a rambutan strange, but I still find the sight unfailingly beautiful. The examples that reach Australia seem bedraggled and suffering from bad hair, no such aesthetic issues for this partly naked example.

Post script: I'm home after 10 days in Singapore, very little wine was consumed, but a great deal of food eaten. A tasting note and something beautiful tomorrow. . .

welcome home.

funny how wine takes a backseat over there isn't it? even on the rare occasions i drink it there, it never seems to quite taste the same.

look forward to the goodies!

Via and Martin,

Quite a few self indulgent Singapore posts to follow. From antipathy two decades ago I now find myself besotted by the place.

Edward, what do you drink in Singapore? Or do you have a break from alcohol there?

Michael,

A relative break in the amount of wine drunk (I shared 4 bottles and personally bought 2 glasses of the stuff). Which is not a bad thing, and perhaps something I need to do more often!

There is a lot of wine in Singapore, it is just quite expensive. One of the high end bottle shop chains has double magnums of Petrus, Dom P and Lafite in it's windows. . .
